"Are those all YOUR kids?"

I had the wonderful opportunity of having my niece Madeline and my nephew Christopher over for a few days. There is just something about having a house full of kids that makes me smile... it might be a smile of delirium, but a smile none the less. Here are a few things I learned in my ventures:
  1. When together for an extended period of time, all kids in diapers will develop the same pooping schedule.
  2. You can never have too many wet wipes.
  3. When you double the amount of kids, you triple the amount of food you will go through... weird math.
  4. It is impossible to get 5 kids to watch a movie in its entirety.
  5. NEVER give 2 Preschoolers and 2 Toddlers popsicles at the same time.
  6. It is ridiculous to think that an hour at a hockey rink will get everyone's energy out. Nothing will ever get all their energy out.
  7. A pilates class is a good investment if you plan on putting 5 kids in car seats in the snow. You definitely need to be somewhat flexible.
  8. If the 5 kids you are watching are related, there is bound to be a competition going on at all times.
  9. Everything can be used as a weapon: hockey sticks, bouncy balls, an umbrella, a cashew container, etc.
  10. I love these kids so much more than they will ever know.
Oh, one other thing I realized... with 5 kids, it's near impossible to get a lot of pictures!
