memorial day

It's finally feeling like summer!
88 degree weather, homemade ribs on the grill, corn on the cob, water fights and slip-n-slides. We had so much fun hanging with friends yesterday for Memorial Day and it was one of the 1st days we needed sunblock!

Oh, and it was a wonderful day for a head buzz!
Isaac was a little hesitant because "Grandy will be so sad. She loves my hair!" We assured him that she will love him with a buzzed head too.... just like daddy.

{in a nutshell}

I am so bad at blogging when I am trying to survive the 1st trimester of pregnancy. Actually, it's not just blogging, I am bad at EVERYTHING during my 1st trimester of pregnancy!

Things have actually been going good, and although at this moment I am feeling pretty awful, this pregnancy has been the easiest so far... I guess the 4th is the charm!

Couple Updates:
  • My sister Jeni is almost 41 weeks pregnant and we are sitting on pins and needles waiting for the call to head up to the hospital. I call her everyday to just make sure I'm in the loop... poor girl.
  • Elijah is now 8 months old and is ALL over the place! This guy is serious work and can't sit still for a minute. He hates being a baby and gets frustrated when he can't do what Isaac and Zoey do. His saving grace: He always has a smile on his face.
  • Isaac is heading into his last full week of Pre-School and I am slightly emotional (I am blaming it on pregnancy hormones). This kid LOVES school more than anyone I have ever met and I know he will be so sad to leave his class (and his incredible teacher!).
  • Zoey... well, Zoey is just Zoey. She is dancing all over the house all of the time and has the ability to make you pull your hair out and laugh at the same time.
  • We are still in the process of house-hunting, but are narrowing down the things we want in our next home. We've decided our dream house only exists in Alaska, but that might be a little too long of a drive to church.

So there it is.... our life in a nut-shell. We are busy and happy and continuing to enjoy each other's company.

...just another step in our family adventure.

Our life has been flipped up side down and all around in the last couple weeks, and I'm trying to figure out which way is up. If you would have told me on New Year's Eve that my life would look like this come spring, I would have laughed at you and made myself another pot of coffee. Here is the one thing I know for sure:
Romans 8:28  "...all things work together for the good of those who love God-those whom he has called according to his plan."

So here are a couple of the updates:

  • We moved out of the first house we ever owned. (Chris said it was like giving away his first born child)
  • We took up temporary residence at Chris' parents house while searching for our new house. (What would we do without them?)
  • I am in my 11th week of my 4th pregnancy. (Nauseousness is just a permanent state of being)
  • I had my first ultrasound and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time. (Yes, we are sure there is only 1 in there)
  • Elijah has had some minor health issues. We have had quite a few trips to Urgent Care and the DR office for this guy. This week he had a severe bacterial infection in both eyes, and was then extremely allergic to the antibiotics he was given. (We now think we have gotten it somewhat under control, but are constantly covering him in prayer)

So now what?
1.) find a house, 2.) dig out my maternity clothes.... again, 3.) continue to trust that the God of this universe not only has a plan for us, but has a purpose surrounding the circumstances we find ourselves in... and ultimately they will bring Him fame.
