7th Inning Stretch
Today is the day that Chris and I have been married for 7 years. It's also the year that we've been together (15 years) longer than we lived before we were together... crazy!
So many incredible years, so many incredible memories, so many incredible things to come... I have nothing but gratefulness to God for enriching my life with someone who makes me a better me. So... for all the thousands of pots of coffee we've consumed, the gut-wrenching laughs we've had with Isaac, the excessively long road trips in the Shasta, and the hours spent seeking God for our lives... I am glad each memory has Chris by my side! Happy 7th Anniversary Chris!
Spouse: someone who'll stand by you through all the trouble
you wouldn't have had if you'd stayed single.

Cider Mill Day.... Finally!
The weather was perfect for a day at Yates Cider Mill. Isaac had so much fun climbing all over and discovering big sticks and rocks.
Chris and I had such a great parent moment when we showed Isaac how to throw leaves over one side of the bridge and run to the other side to see it appear. Didn't everyone's parents show them that when they were little? Full circle moment!
When Chris told me to buy some food for the goats for Isaac, I told him there was no way he would feed them. I thought for sure he would get scared and climb up Chris' leg. Boy, was I wrong. Not only was he so excited to feed the goats, but he wouldn't stop petting them and talking to them. It was so cute... and disturbing!
Isaac HAD to be the horsey! If you have never asked Isaac what a horsey says, I promise you won't be disappointed when you do!
Isaac has so much fun when his friends are around. Cameron and Isaac had a blast scarfing down donuts, riding the ponies and climbing the stairs a dozen times.

Touchdown!!!
Tonight we went to the Parkway Homecoming Game to support our girls Mercedes and Victoria. It was so much fun seeing all the youth, catching up with old friends and watching Isaac yell "Touchdown!" (and trust me, Parkway had a lot of them!) Mercedes and Victoria were beautiful as princesses and it was fun watching their moms get all choked up. I am so proud of those girls and wanted to scream "they are from my youth group!" It was so nice to get out in the nice weather and have some adult conversations... such a great night!
PS- Thanks to Rachel who spoiled Chris and I with treats and coffee from the concession stand. You are one of the sweetest girl I know and I love you very much!

T.G.I.T.
If you are a mom, then you probably know why I love Tuesday
nights.... $1.50 happy meals at McDonalds! Isaac gets his chocolate milk
and nuggets, and I don't have to make him dinner! So anyways, I loaded
the 2 kids up in the truck and as I was buckling Isaac in, Zoey started
to cry. Isaac turned to her and said "It's ok, Zoey, it's ok." He kept
saying it until she stopped crying. He must hear me say that all day
long! It melted my heart.
(I do realize that this is a story that only my parents and sisters would enjoy... probably pretty boring to the rest of you.)
Thank You Daddy!
A family from our church has outgrown their Little Tikes Climber, so they dropped it off today for Isaac. All day long Isaac kept asking me when daddy was getting home so they could "fix" the "mcdonald's play." As soon as he heard Chris' van truck pull up in the driveway, Isaac was out the backdoor to get his tools and convince daddy to help him work. He loves this thing and I am so grateful to have something he can get his energy out on!

I may be starting a family war...
Last year when my parents decided to move out of the house we had for 30 years, they had all of us over and divided up most of their stuff. It was the weirdest day... going thru all of the stuff we grew up with and fighting over who got to take it home. Well, I know this is going to start a family war, but I took our famous paddle and I'm not sure my sisters know about it. In my defense, I was the one it was used on the most, so I think I should have it by default. Anyways, Isaac has been laughing when we say he is going to get a spanking so we introduced Isaac to the paddle yesterday and you should have seen his face... priceless. (By the way, the white rectangles on the wood are memory verses that we would have to read in our room while waiting for our parents to come in and discipline- they are all about "training" up a child. You can click on the picture and read them.)

Brotherly Love
This is what we do for 75% of the day. I don't know why I was so worried about how Isaac would respond to having a new baby around!

Growing up is hard to do...
I decided to take the kids for a walk tonight since the weather was so nice. I got Zoey's stroller out and thought Isaac and I would walk and talk. I was wrong. As soon as Isaac saw his "old" stroller, he jumped in and yelled "Isaac's stroller." Needless to say, as soon as Chris pulled in the driveway, he took Zoey in the house and I pushed Isaac around the neighborhood.... maybe I will need a double stroller!

Our Rainy Weekend...
Even though it never stopped raining, and we never got to go to the cider mill like I had hoped, we had such a fun, relaxing weekend. We pretty much just hung out as a family and enjoyed being lazy. We did take Isaac to see KUNG FU PANDA at the Macomb Mall Theater. For the record, that movie theater is disgusting! Isaac loved the movie and has been practicing his karate chop all day. I wish we had more weekends like this!

My Wish Was Granted
Can I just say that I LOVE MY PARENTS! Just moments after I posted my "I'm losing it" blog, my parents showed up at my door with a Toffee Nut Latte and time to get me and the kids out of the house. Next time I am going to blog about how I need a new wardrobe and a massage! I am feeling much better now... and a little over-caffienated. Good thing my mom decided against the extra shot of espresso!
i don't have the energy to come up with a title...
Today is the day.
I hit my limit.
I am exhausted, sore, weak and delirious.
Today I don't have the energy to fake it.
I need God's supernatural strength and a Toffee Nut Latte with an extra shot of espresso.
Psalm 73:26
"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

like father, like son
When I was pregnant with Isaac, Chris and I wanted a boy so badly. I just pictured him following his daddy around trying to be just like him. Well, I definitely got my wish! Isaac can't wait for his daddy to get home so he can help him "work." The newest trend is that he has to wear his work boots just like daddy and can't help him outside unless he has them on. Like father, like son!

Everyone is talking about fall... probably because of the AMAZING weather today. It's my FAVORITE time of year! I am thrilled to see numbers in the 60's instead of the 80's. I actually wore a hoodie the other day! Here is my list of fall things that I am excited about:
1. cider mills
2. pumpkin spice lattes
3. hoodies
4. new season of HEROES
5. hot apple cider and donuts
6. football
7. drinking coffee around a campfire
8. fall smelling candles
9. beautiful colors of leaves
10. going to zehnders!!!

all by myself...
Today was the first day I was alone with the 2 kids. It's not a piece of cake, but I had a blast.... and even found time to take a nap with both of them (my favorite part of the day.) I was worried that once I was home alone with both kids, I would decide that 2 is all I could handle- but nothing is further from the truth. I have more fun having 2 then with just 1. Now getting out of the house with everyone dressed and fed will be a different story!

Babies Everywhere!!!
We got to spend some time with the newest addition to the Head Family.... and he is a cutie!
Connor Craig
7lb. 7oz. and 20.5 inches
Born the same day as Zoey!
There are babies everywhere (with more on the way), and I love it! It's definitely a new phase of life for all of us. We end up hanging out watching cartoons and rinsing bottles instead of drinking coffee and playing cards, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Muchas Gracias
I just wanted to thank everyone for their love and support the last couple of days. We have received cards, gifts, flowers, meals, emails and calls with overwhelming amounts of love, and it continues to show us how much we are blessed by the Lord. I actually got choked up last night when I realized that my sister-n-law Nina had emptied my dishwasher and filled it while I was laying down (while she was watching the toddlers). It just made me think of all the incredible people I'm surrounded with that do things for me for all the time. So thank you to everyone who have prayed for us, served us and loved us for no particular reason. It has definitely been felt!
