from the mouth of babes...
I am obviously not a big fan of pregnancy or postpartum pictures of myself, but this one was too funny to pass up. We were getting ready to leave the hospital and I had just taken off my hospital gown and gotten in regular clothes when Isaac walked up to me very concerned and put both hands on my stomach. I asked him what was wrong and he asked, "mama having another baby?" My jaw dropped and Chris burst into hysterical laughter (and of course got the moment on camera). I looked him in the eyes and told him that he was the only one that could say that and still be cute!

We are home now and everything is wonderful. Thank you to everyone who has sent their love and congratulations... we are so grateful. Here is my favorite picture and favorite video from our second day with Zoey...

Here in room 3913
Right now I am just sitting here in the hospital holding my daughter (that's so weird to say) and I am so thankful to the Lord for this wonderful day. God is so good to our family, as usual, even though it's so undeserved. Thanks to everyone who kept us in their prayers, God was completely faithful- my delivery was incredible, my recovery is completely tolerable and we should be home by tomorrow evening, enjoying our newly formed family of 4. We chose the name Zoey because it means "The God kind of Life" and Loren because it was my grandfather's name (my dad's dad) and means "Laurel-Crowned" or "Victorious". That is my prayer for this sweet little girl: that she would live the kind of life God designed for her and she would stand victorious all the days of her life.

Peace...
There are times in our lives when our peace is based simply on our own ignorance. But when we are awakened to the realities of life, true inner peace is impossible unless it is received from Jesus. When our Lord speaks peace, He creates peace, because the words that He speaks are always "spirit, and they are life" (John 6:63). Have I ever received what Jesus speaks? ". . . My peace I give to you. . ."— a peace that comes from looking into His face and fully understanding and receiving His quiet contentment.

OpFTH
Wednesday night in Legacy we did an outreach with "Operation From the Heart" that sends care packages to troops on the front lines in Iraq and other countries. It was AMAZING! I'm ashamed to say that I was a little naive when it came to the conditions of our troops overseas and am so grateful to be a part of sending over supplies and letters. We had some youth grab the boxes and pray for these men and women by name. It was such a powerful service! Now each of our students can go to their website and see the troops get our packages and hear back from them. It's great!

Reality Check #1
"It sometimes happens, even in the best of families, that a baby is born. This is not necessarily cause for alarm. The important thing is to keep your wits about you and borrow some money."
~Elinor Goulding Smith~
You should have seen my face last night as Isaac and I were painting at his picnic table and Chris came outside and did this to the truck... crazy!

warning: boring video ahead
WARNING: This is probably going to be the most boring video you've ever seen, but as a wife and mother,
I could watch it ALL DAY LONG!
(I, of course, only caught the tail end of this...it had been going on for quite awhile- Chris rubbing his back and then when he stopped, Isaac putting his hand back)

Here's to the Peridot!
I have to give major props to my husband Chris for making our kid's rooms so fun for me and our babies! Our baby girl's room is ready (except for the shelves... the stuff on them isn't necessarily staying there) and from my Dr's visit today, my body is not far behind. I won't gross you with "dilate" and "cervix" talk, but we are well on our way. Looks like we will be having an August baby- here's to the Peridot birthstone! (Just FYI... did you know the Peridot gem was used in the breastplates of the High Priests in the OT? Pretty cool!)

Does your belly hurt, mama?
I need to post a quick, cute Isaac story before I forget... my parents will love this in Romania. I was rubbing my stomach because the baby was kicking me pretty hard. Isaac asked, "Does your belly hurt, mama?" I said yes, and he asked if I wanted him to pray. So he laid his hands on my stomach and said, "Jesus, pray for mama's belly, make all better, amen!" and then he raised his hands in the air. I LOVED IT!!!!

Can every morning be like this?
This morning Isaac and I took some time to review his Sunday School lesson from his toddler class yesterday morning. Some may think that 2 years old is too young to learn about Jesus and the Bible, but I come from a family of teachers... on both sides my family, so it would be extremely hard to convince me otherwise. Especially since I can remember certain Bible songs my mom taught me around that age. The scripture verse was Ephesians 2:10, "For we are created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God wants us to walk in." I love it! Thank you Miss Michelle! We talked about walking in God's way and played followed the leader. Afterward we enjoyed the perfect weather by painting Lightning McQueen. It is such a good morning!

and the saga continues...
Ok, so I'm sure my "brownie" stories are getting old, but I can't stop talking about them. Isaac had an ear appointment for a check-up (we ended up having to re-schedule b/c of the Dr. being so backed up... ugh!) and as I checked us in, Isaac went to play with in the kid's area. There is a pretend kitchen set, so he told me he was going to make me lunch. He brought me some chicken and mashed potatoes and was so proud when I said how good they were. Then I asked if I could have some brownies. He looked and looked and couldn't find any, so he opened the oven and pretended to get the brownies out and brought them to me. Then I started to eat them when he told me they were cold and he had to warm them up. He then placed his pretend brownies in the microwave... so funny. Once we got home, I decided to make brownies for our SYTYCD finale night and Isaac was so excited to help. He not only poured and stirred, but he tasted them and got semi-messy saying how yummy the batter was. It was a good brownie day today!
