Our Sick Day
We had a rough night and a pretty slow-going morning. Zoey has a high temperature, and Isaac's belly hurts. We decided to dedicate to today to rest and relaxation. Thanks to my mom who came over to give me a nap! Keep us in your prayers....

Baby, it's cold outside
It's ANCE's Birf-day!
We had such a great day yesterday celebrating Lance's birthday. We even made him a special craft using Isaac's favorite stickers (he took one back later that night.) We also would like to give a huge shout-out to Lance for putting our princess to sleep within 5 minutes flat! We love you Lance! Happy Birthday!

Isaac-n-Madeline Day
my beautiful tulips
Just wanted to document that I had flowers in my garden this year. I saw a squirrel munching on one yesterday, so I picked them before they were all gone. I'm trying to stay a step ahead of those ridiculous furry creatures!!!

out for a stroll
We talked about Jesus.
We talked about daddy.
We talked about Spiderman.
I wish that had time everyday to spend with my kids individually.

2009 Heart Child
I have friends from college who have such an incredible testimony about their youngest daughter, Emma, who was born with heart disease and heart defects. She was just recently named 2009 Heart Child for the American Heart Association. Here is a link where Angela tells Emma's story on the news and here is a link for Emma's blog. God is so faithful!

Happy Earth Day Eve!
Wednesdays are always busy for us, so we decided to celebrate Earth Day early. Isaac and I had so much fun talking about the earth and how God created everything. We even learned a new song... "He's got the whole world in His hands."
Potting our "Bachelor's Button" flowers- Isaac picked them out himself

He formed it to be inhabited."

The Return of the Psycho Rodents
So here's the story:
Our subdivision is infested with wild animals. This is not a joke. We have seen skunks, opossums, raccoons, and psycho squirrels in our backyard on a regular basis. Well, tonight it turned ridiculous. We were driving to Costco and the library, when our truck started to act up. Once we got home, Chris opened up the hood and couldn't believe his eyes. It looked like someone had snipped the wires. We finally realized that they had been chewed through, after I told him I saw a squirrel climb up inside our car earlier last week. Unbelievable!
(the story ends well, Chris fixed the whole problem.. surprise, surprise!)

absence makes the heart grow fonder
I thought it would be wise to wait to post about my husband being out of town all week until he was back in town. This week has been CrAzY and we are so happy to have daddy home! Every morning Isaac would wake up and tell Zoey, "Daddy is at work in Candy-da and will be home soon, Zo, don't worry." It was so cute. He even had to show her where "Candy-da" was on our globe.
So Chris calls around noon to let me know where to come and pick him up. I know it's going to be close to the bridge, so when my dad asked if I wanted him to come with me, I told him the kids and I would be fine. Downtown Detroit is great and I figured we would just take our time and enjoy the scenery. Chris never mentioned that he was sending me to the projects... literally! When my dad sees these pictures of the view from our car while waiting for Chris, he is going to roll his eyes, shake his head and thank the Lord for his grace!Chris is now konked out with Isaac at his side and we are all very happy he is home. This was the view of the RenCen from where he was working, and then some crazy pictures of some of the work he was doing... that he will inevitably try to explain to me when he wakes up... to no avail.
