Date Night!!!

Chris and I don't get out by ourselves a lot. This is for 2 reasons... 1. we LOVE being with our kids and miss them terribly when they aren't with us. 2. we are really busy and hate bothering our family to babysit for something that isn't mandatory. Anyways, I planned a special night for Chris tonight and my parents took the kids. It was so much fun to get out and I realized one more time why I love to spend time with my husband more than anyone else in the whole world. Just wanted you all to know...

Footed PJs

Isaac's Uncle Justin and Aunt Kyle bought him these footed pajamas a couple of weeks ago and we have been in discussions about him wearing them ever since. Isaac keeps telling us he is too big to wear the jammies with feet. Chris completely understood, because he remembers hating those when he was younger- "when you straighten your feet they pull your arms down!!" he says. Well, tonight we overcame! Isaac put the pjs on for his Poppi and Grandy and posed for me to get a picture. Just from past experience, I have a feeling I will have a hard time getting him out of them tomorrow!

Cuddle-Bug

This is a picture of my beautiful baby sleeping. Unfortunately, this particular night, it took 2 feedings and an hour of cuddling before I came to terms with the fact that we weren't going back to sleep. I laid Zoey down in my bed so I could run to the bathroom and this is what I came back to. Go figure! One thing is for sure, I can't complain about this girl at all. Some nights she sleeps pretty much all the way thru and if not, she usually does go right back to sleep after eating. I am blessed!

The Smiling Stage...

Although it hasn't quite been documented yet, Zoey has just entered the smiling stage! There isn't anything that can melt my heart more than seeing my children smile!

my men

See, they have pumpkins!

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day. We took Connie and Mary Ann to Yates for cider and donuts, then to PaPa Joe's for lunch. Isaac had a blast!

It's been so much fun reminiscing with my friends and also hearing what God is doing with them at this time in their life. It's weird when you go to college out of state, because you make some of the closest friends you'll ever have, and then you are sprawled all over the country once you graduate. You go from living in dorm rooms 24-7 together, to talking on the phone and emailing once a week. I am grateful though- they are still in my life and making me a better person!

Tokens, Tickets and Telephones

Yesterday we took the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese and Isaac didn't stop running around for 2 hours! Connie spent the whole time with him, patiently handing him tokens and cheering when he won EVERY game. Zoey and I just watched from a distance, wondering who which one of them would be the first to pass out from exhaustion. The funniest part of the day: Isaac getting lost in the tubes in the air and mommy having to rescue him!

FYI:
The manager at the Chuck-E-Cheese on Gratiot and Masonic told us they are expanding. The place will be twice as big when they are done. Good thing too, because that place can get super crowded!

Blast from the Past...

I am super excited that one of my BESTEST friends from college is coming into town today! I got on a picture kick, finding old photos of us in college, so I thought I would share.
At least a small group of you will get a laugh!

  • Coffee, Milk and Devotions
  • Make brownies for daddy
  • Watch Curious George
  • Play with stickers
  • Clean the basement
  • Make block towers
  • Hug Zoey

Do we choose the pop or is it just random?

We just got back from our family weekend at Zehnders for my dad's birthday and we had such a great time! I love having time to spend together, even if it is just a weekend. Here are some pics from our trip:

Isaac followed this chicken all over the water-park.
He was so excited to get his picture taken with him.
For some reason Frankenmuth has a ton of these picture poses...
and of course we had to get our pictures taken in ALL OF THEM!
This was one of the pics from daddy's photo shoot with Zoey...
there will be more to come! This is a such a perfect picture of Tommy and Keri's relationship...
just ask them about their game of PIG in the water... so funny!
We kept trying to get Isaac to pose by Santa's boots, but his head was too big to fit thru.
Instead of helping him, we all just took pictures and laughed!Yes, Jeni is in the matress being smashed by Chris and Isaac...
Chris loves to teach our son the family tradition of torturing Jeni2 of my favorite girls chilling by the pool
Winding down after a long day in the water.
Dad and Isaac finding sticks to throw in the water.
Happy Birthday Dad!

SHHHHHHHHH!!!

Today was Library Day! Isaac, Zoey and I spent our morning at the St. Clair Shores Public Library reading books about soccer, tools and trucks. Isaac was very excited to get his library card. Every time I would call him to come over, he would look at me, put his finger to his lips and say "SHHHHH mama, we have to be quiet."

(Mom Side Note: Why do children wait until the 1 hour of the day you are out of the house and in a public place to mess their pants? So predictable!)

The V-Smile doesn't make Me-Smile

So last night Isaac was given the V-Tech V-Smile TV Learning System. It's a educational video system for kids that will DRIVE THEIR PARENTS CRAZY! If I hear "Move the clown to the right place" one more time, I may go completely insane. He does love it though, I have to say, and I am so grateful for hand-me-downs from the families in my youth ministry. Now if it just came with a mute button...

What toy drives you CRAZY?

BFF

I know this picture isn't the most flattering of my children and neither of them are really smiling at the camera...
but if you knew what it took to even get this pic, you would agree it was worth sharing!!!
