hanging with #3

I don't get a lot of alone time with Elijah. By the time he was 4 months old, I was pregnant with Jacob, so he got the short end of the stick when it comes to being the baby. Chris and I love to look for opportunities to do things with just him, so I was excited when I weaseled my way into going to the circus with his class. He doesn't like being the center of attention, so pictures aren't enjoyable for him... but I managed to sneak this one while we were watching the elephants.

Teddy Bear Clinic

The High School down the street from church hosts a "Teddy Bear Clinic" each year. The kids get to bring their favorite stuffed animals and the medical students take them around to each station and help them make sure they are healthy. It is the cutest field trip and I LOVE it! Zoey had a blast.

Field Trip: Deneweths Garden Center

Today we went on a special field trip to Deneweth's Garden Center with Zoey's Preschool Class. Despite the fact that it was during the time the boys would normally eat and nap, we made the best of their crabbiness and tried to stop and smell the roses... or the orchids... either way. It was slightly frustrating that I couldn't give my little girl some undivided attention (individualized attention is a delicacy around these parts), but I was glad that I could still be there to show her support. She got to see how all the machines run, plant her own flower and she even informed me that she saw a flower that looked like it had bones (I was chasing baby boys around the watering cans at that point). I'll tell you one thing... those flowers definitely put me in the summer spirit!

Harvest Fest

Last week I was able to hang with Isaac and his 1st grade class for a field trip to Harvest Fest. It was so much fun for me to see his interactions with his classmates and teacher, and it was also fun to meet the other parents/grandparents. I love meeting new people! Isaac made me promise I would bring a coffee for his teacher.... I have trained him well. Such a fun day!

perfect day for the zoo.

Today was Isaac's field trip to the zoo.
One of the moms from Isaac's class works at the zoo with the giraffes, so we were able to feed them at lunch time. We also got an inside tip on a VIP feeding time for the polar bears. What a fun-filled day!

last pre-school field trip :(

Yesterday I was able to go with Isaac on his last field trip as a Pre-Schooler. It was to a beautiful Nature Center, a nature walk to a Tree House and then to the Splash Zone. It was hot, hot, hot out, but we still had a wonderful time. At the end, Isaac even came over to whisper in my ear, "I'm so glad you came, mom." It made all the overheating totally worth it!
